Swimming Pool Deaths - Practice Safety

Florida, California and Arizona have the highest rate of swimming pool deaths in the country almost every year. This is partially due to the number of swimming pools in these states and their populations, however there are many steps parents and public swimming pool operators can take to reduce and prevent fatalities around swimming pools. If it is your child that is involved in a swimming pool fatality or a near death mishap around a pool, you will wish you had paid attention to the swimming pool safety guidelines that are readily available.

All three states and actually most states have swimming pool guidelines available that are aimed at reducing fatalities and swimming pool death. Parents are encouraged to take advantage of these free guidelines and review all of the steps necessary to make pools safer and reduce the possibility of a death in your swimming pool. Pool deaths occur from improper supervision to accidents that happen because someone was not obeying simple rules in and around the pool.

Pool fatalities also occur because toddlers somehow wander into an unsupervised pool area chasing a ball or just fall into the pool. Unable to swim and unable to pull themselves out of the pool, they quickly become another statistic on the nations list of pool fatalities every year. Don't let one of your children become a fatality statistic in or around the pool. Review the guidelines that are available from every state and begin practicing them now. You may be preventing a fatality of your own children or your neighbour's children by practising these simple guidelines.
