Swimming Pool Safety Manual – Safety Guidelines

Now pool owners and operators can benefit from a swimming pool safety manual that is available. Operators can order these manuals, as well as attend training programs that will provide pool safety approaches and swimming safety guidelines that their staff can follow. These manuals provide information about steps that operators should take to keep swimmers safe. Subjects that are covered include how to prevent drowning, how to avoid suction entrapment of small children and avoiding diving accidents.

Swimming pool safety manuals also cover some subjects that may not be part of the standard training for many pool operators and swimming pool life guards. Illnesses caused by too many chemicals in the water, sun stroke, maintaining water balance, and chemical levels are also part of the guidelines that are often covered in many of the manuals that are now available. For those installations that are more advanced, there are sections that discuss control technology and automatic chemical feeds to the pool. It is also important to cover record keeping to ensure a continuous safe environment.

Training courses can also be developed using these manuals for new staff being introduced to the swimming pool operation. Pool staff need to be aware of all of the normal swimming safety issues. Staff often are not trained in how to deal with chemical imbalances or other more unusual situations. With a proper training program following the guidelines published in the manuals, operators will be confident that they are providing s safe swimming environment for their patrons.
