Pool Safety Systems – Save Lives
Many children and adults drown in backyard pools and in public pools every year. Even when there are lifeguards on duty, it can be difficult for lifeguards to see all of the swimmers in a public pool and ensure their safety. Now there are pool safety systems that are being introduced by a number of companies. These systems when implemented can sometimes provide on duty lifeguards an early warning of a possible disaster occurring at the bottom of the pool. Many parents and pool operators feel that even if one life can be saved, these systems are worth the price of installation for the system.
A pool safety system can detect someone who may be in trouble who has perhaps sunk to the bottom of the pool and cannot swim to the surface. The device will detect the motionless body on the bottom of the pool and then send an alarm to the on duty lifeguard to warn them of an impending disaster. Sometimes this may be the only way a life guard will notice someone at the bottom of the pool. Some pools are quite busy and life guards cannot always see into the deep end. Life guards can rely on this safety device to give them that extra few minutes to pull some one out of the water and resuscitate them before they drown.
These systems are becoming more popular as many city departments and pool owners try to make pools safe. The system does not replace vigilant life guards or parents, but the device does increase saftey. Parents should not become complacent and depend on the electronic device to make sure children are safe.
