Swimming Pool Filters – Keep Your Pool Clean

Swimming pool filters can be divided into three different primary types of filters. The most popular filter with pool companies and owners is the sand filter. The sand purifier has been available for many years and has been available the longest of any of the filter types. Cartridge filters have gradually been making inroads in various regions of the country, displacing sand filters. Diatomaceous earth is the third filter type and appears to have penetrated the market up to a level of 20% of the market. All of these filters do the same thing. The filters will remove small particles of debris and algae from the pools water and store this debris in the ourifier until it can be backwashed in the case of sand filters. Cartridge filters need and DE filters also need to be cleaned from time to time.

A swimming pool filter removes dirt and grime from your pool. Sand filters capture small amount of dirt and other debris that finds it’s way into the pool. The debris lodges between the sand particles until the purifier is backwashed and the debris is exhausted as waster water. Some communities have bylaws that prevent their residents from backwashing their waste water down city drains. A cartridge purifier is an excellent solution to this issue. When it is time for the cartridge to be cleaned, remove the cartidge and use a garden hose to clean the cartridge. This is an envrionemental approach to dealing with waste water and keeping the water clean in your swimming pool.

All swimming pools, hot tubs and spas require a purifier to be attached. The filter works to remove bacteria, algae and dirt from the pools water. Swimming pool owners can help to decrease the amount of dirt in pools by using a pool cover which helps to decrease windblown dirt from being blown into the pool.
