Indoor Hot Tubs – Hints and Tips

Indoor spas represent approximately 30% of the overall spa business. Over the years spas have become more popular and many people enjoy the outdoor spa, but do not want to deal with cold temperatures, snow and ice. If they could just go down to the basement and climb into a nice warm spa away from prying eyes and enjoy the therapeutic aspect of their hot tub inside they would be very happy. Indoor hot tubs are more easily installed indoors when homes are being constructed, however, hot tub manufacturers have recognized the market for indoor units and make hot tubs that can be assembled after being brought indoors.

Many new homeowners recognize the opportunity they have to install their warm indoor hot tub before the walls and the floors of their homes are installed. A crane on sight can quickly drop the hot tub into the basement or wherever the hot tub will be placed and then it can be connected and installed later when the house is ready. Start your negotiations early with the builder so that your requirements can be incorporated into the overall design of the home and your hot tub and spa placed indoors where you want it inside with the appropriate electrical and plumbing fixtures installed as required.

Home owners with existing homes who want to add a hot tub indoors can almost always add one. There are always some situations were you cannot accommodate the dimensions of a hot tub, however with the modular design of hot tubs today, many existing homes can be have one inside. Consumers must take into account the connection of plumbing, electrical requirements as well as inside ventilation of excess moisture from the warm hot tub.
