Electronic Water Controllers – Automatic Testing

Electronic water testing is usually found in large pool or spa installations, however some pool owners with large pools may also invest in electronic water controllers. Controllers regulate the chemicals that are needed in the system to ensure that the water is kept clean for bathers. There are three types of electric controllers that are in use today in many commercial and public facilities. They are the electric colrmetric ppm, the ORP and the electric amperonmtric ppm. Consumers and business mangers that are interested in this type of controller or regulator should speak to a dealer to evaluate the details of each type of electronic controller along with the initial capital cost and the ongoing operational cost of the regulator. Each person can evaluate their controller needs based on the initial up front costs and the ling term cost of operating the regulators.

Each unit measures the amount of chemical in the pool using different processes and then instructs the system to add more of the appropriate chemical to maintain the proper level in the pool. The regulators are automated and require very little involvement by operators to maintain them other than normal operating maintenance. There are some advantages to the electronic water controller and regulator that consumers will find useful.

Colormetric’s are the most accurate of the controllers and regulators, however their initial cost is higher than the other types of controllers. ORP systems cost less to install, but will not provide detailed readings for the concentration of chlorine. Consumers should review the detailed specifications for these water controllers with a supplier who will provide the details you need and select the one that best meets your design requirements and budget.
