Electric Pool Heaters – Types of Heaters
Swimming pool owners have a choice of electric pool heaters that will heat their pools for their enjoyment and pleasure. When customers open their pools first thing in the spring and clean up their pools, the pool is ready for swimming except for one thing. The temperature of the water is too cold for swimming! A pool heater can extend your swimming season considerably sometimes adding a month at the beginning and the end of the season. Pool heaters include gas heaters, solar heaters and electric heaters. Some heaters will also use fuel oil or propane, however these are less common.
An electric pool heater attached to your pool plumbing can be installed within hours and begin heating your pool. Depending on the size of your pool and the specifications of your electric heater, these pool heaters can raise the temperature of the water sufficiently within twenty four hours. Heaters come with safety mechanisms that will shut the heater down if there is no water being pumped through it. Electronic heaters are often tank less and take less room than gas heaters or even solar heaters.
Tank less electric heaters can also be installed in conjunction with gas and solar heating sources. In some cases with solar heating on cloudy days the electronic heater can be used as a backup-heating source so that your family can enjoy a warm heated pool every day of the week. If you also have a spa with your pool an electronic heater can also be used to heat the spa as well as the pool with the appropriate plumbing hook up.
