Pool Sanitizer Alternatives – Reduce Chemical Use
The vast majority of in ground pools, above ground pools, spa’s, Jacuzzi’s and other backyard swimming related devices continue to use chlorine as the main chemical to control and eliminate any bacteria and algae in your pool. Chlorine is an effective sanitizer, however there are pool sanitizer alternatives that can be substituted, which cost less money and have less chemicals.
One pool sanitizer alternative is ion based which uses small quantities of interactive ion-producing elements. The elements are blended in a specific manner that allows them to create a Galvanic action when they are immersed in water. The sanitizer works as a purifier and neutralizes any bacteria, algae and other live elements that are in the pool. The purifier system takes about one to two weeks to begin to work effectively and you will begin to notice the difference within a few days. You will enjoy the alternative sanitizers better than chlorine purifiers.
Some pool sanitizers require hard wiring to work and must be hooked up to your pool plumbing. These typically tend to be larger units designed to work in very large pools and other major water sanitizer situations. Some products that work as an alternative or substitutes chlorine can be immersed in the pool and require no wiring or plumbing changes required. An ionizing purifier system like this is called an ionizing capsule and are excellent alternative sanitizers to regular chlorine treatments.
