Swimming Pool Heaters – Extend Your Season
Swimming pool heaters can extend your swimming season by up to a month in the spring and another month in the fall. No one likes to swim in cool water, especially when the days are cold in the spring. A pool heater can make pools warmer and more enjoyable. There are four types of pool heaters that consumers can consider for their pools. Depending on whether the pool is above ground or in ground, you may find that some might be better than others.
The two most popular heaters and warmers are gas pool heaters and electric pool heaters. A swimming pool heater works in much the same way a water heater works in your home. The water from the pool is continuously being forced through the heater warmers by the pool pump. Most pool heaters allow you to regulate the temperature allowing you to preset the temperature you want your water to be at, warmer or cooler.
Water heaters in pools that use fuel oil or propane are also available, however they are not as popular simply because gas and electricity are more commonly available. The heater and warmer generally works the same way other than the type of fuel that they use.
Solar heaters and warmers are a great way to conserve energy and warm up your pool water at the same time. Solar panels are usually placed on the roof of your house and the pool pump will pump water through the panels to warm the water before it returns back to your pool.
