Fiberglass Pool Molds – Advantages and Disadvantages
Consumers can choose from three different pool styles, vinyl, cement and fiberglass swimming pools. Fiberglass pool molds are designed to provide swimming pools in a variety of shapes and styles. The shape molds are designed in standard shapes using a wax mold. The fibreglass is then sprayed on to the side of the mold in combination with various resins to construct the pool in the desired shape and style of the pool. Once the fiberglass pool is finished and dried, a crane will lift the fibreglass pool out of the wax mold and place it on the ground for storage until it can be delivered to the customer.
Consumers may need to do a bit of shopping to find the styles and shape of fiberglass pool mold to fit their backyard and their design criteria. Manufacturers of fibreglass pools will have a limited number of shapes available so if you do not see one that you like, check with another manufacturer. The fibreglass pool must be lifted onto a flatbed truck for delivery and then placed in the ground in the customer’s backyard using a suitable crane. Before purchasing a fibreglass pool, customers need to ensure that there is sufficient access for the crane to place the pool into the customer’s backyard.
Once your pool is installed you will find that there are a number of subtle advantages for fibreglass pools. The surface is smooth so there is no snagging and ripping of your bathing suit that many concrete pools cause. Pools constructed with fibreglass also inhibit algae growth. The best advantage is that a fibreglass pool never needs replacing or major repairs as compared to vinyl and cement pools.
