Swimming Pool Decks – Inground and Above Ground Construction
Swimming pool decks are built to match the swimming pool in your backyard. If you have a inground pool, your deck may be a patio of interlocking bricks, stone, cement or wood that surrounds the pool and provides you with additional outdoor living space while you are enjoying your swimming pool. Decking for inground pools is often constructed at the same level as the pool and support lawn chairs and tables for your personal enjoyment
A swimming pool deck for an above ground pool is often built in a raised manner so that the deck is level with the top of the above ground swimming pool. Consumers prefer this approach so that they can easily keep an eye on the children swimming in the pool and aesthetically it is more pleasing.
All raised decking needs to be supported properly so they have the strength to hold your guests and the weight of other items you may place on the deck. Many homeowners will design their decking to merge with the backyard flower gardens, the swimming pools, and their homes. Flowers, trees and shrubs also add enjoyment and can provide shade for you in the hot summer months and can be placed strategically around pools and decks.
Care should be taken to avoid planting shrubs and trees too close to the pool and the deck. Damage from leaves and roots from the trees and shrubs to your swimming pool can be avoided by placing them at a good distance from your pool. Shading in your backyard is great, however you will want to avoid shading your pool too much from larger trees.
