Waterproof Anchoring Cement – For Pool Diving Boards & Ladders
Many pool ladders have sockets for the ladder that are below the water line in your pool and require specialized mounting using waterproof anchoring cement. This waterproof cement will work in conditions that are exposed to water on a continuous basis. Mounting brackets must be set into the openings and the watertight cement pushed around the opening within three to five minutes. The setting time is very short for this type of cement and customers need to act quickly in placing the cement around any brackets that will be held by in place.
Mixing of waterproof anchoring cements must be mixed very carefully into a heavy putty like consistency. The watertight cement will set in three to five minutes after mixing. Only mix what you can use within that time frame. Only small amounts of cement will needed to be mixed since you only have a few minutes. You may want to only work with one mounting bracket or anchor at a time to avoid having the mixed cement harden before you can use it. Waterproof water-stop cement is available in white for pool anchor applications if you are trying to match to existing colours.
Installers using watertight cement of this type must follow standard anchoring procedures as outlined by various local, state and national bodies. For example all anchor screws must be grounded and follow the National Electrical Code for mounting, anchoring and grounding requirements. When these anchors are properly installed they act as a lightning arrestor for ladders, diving boards and slides that are mounted on the side of the pool or along the deck of the pool. It is important to follow these guidelines to ensure that mounting of the brackets or anchor with this watertight cement is done properly and these items are anchored securely.
