Pool Salt Measurer – Help Manage Chlorine Levels
Many pool owners use a sodium chloride generator to produce chlorine for their pools and maintain the chlorine level necessary to provide clear clean water for swimming. A pool salt measurer can assist you in maintaining the proper level of salts in the water so that the salt generator works properly.
Pool salt measurers come in a variety of containers, however usually they are in the form of test strips that allow you to measure the salt level in the water and ensure that it does not exceed an amount that prevents the chloride generator from working properly. This same measurers can also be used for hot tubs as well as pools. The salts measurer can measure salt levels from as low as 400 parts per million and as high as 7000 parts per million of sodium chloride content.
There are other forms of measurers that you can also consider in addition to a salt measurer. PH levels must also be maintained and measured. If your pool does not have the correct PH level the sodium chloride level will be more difficult to manage, and your pool could easily become green as algae begins to grow.
Once your pool has become infested with algae, the salt measurers cannot be used until you have the chlorine level back to normal and all of the algae killed. Your PH strips may also not work properly either. Consumers need to chlorinate their pools to kill all of the algae and then begin to use the sodium chloride measurer to check the salt level and ensure that the chlorinator is working properly.
